Our Accomplishments

Each year, Bluebills donate thousands of volunteer hours to the communities where we live. In the past year, we distributed a mountain of books to children, provided warm quilts to seniors, built wheelchair ramps and visited shut-ins, made dolls for Toys for Tots, taught hands-on engineering classes to scores of students, answered telephones at the public television telethon, collected and stuffed thousands of backpacks for school children. This activity is just the tip of the iceberg. Social agencies all over the region turn to Bluebills to help them meet needs.

An especially significant new project was launched in 1999 when we joined forces with World Vision to establish the Kids in Need Resource Center (now called Teacher's Resource Center). Bluebills managed a warehouse where teachers from 40 Seattle Tacoma schools distributed $650,000 worth of supplies in its first year. The program has grown dramatically. In the 2005-2006 school year, 2,000 teachers and staff from 160 schools were able to distribute more than $1.5 million in school products to 58,000 needy students.
